The award program, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS), evaluates employers based on specific criteria outlined in the Final Rule.
The Final Rule, effective since January 2018, provides a comprehensive framework for recognizing employer efforts in hiring veterans. The Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award criteria include, but are not limited to, the percentage of new veteran hires, retention of veteran employees, the presence of veteran resource groups, leadership development programs for veterans, and support for veterans on active duty.
